As you walk down the pathway, if you look close behind,
You’ll see footprints you’re leaving in the sands of time.

Some of the prints go down deep in the sand;
Much deeper, perhaps, than you had planned.

Other prints may seem shallow, disappearing from view,
As if the soil had never known you.

And so it is with our lives every day,
We leave prints upon others as we pass their way.

We imprint their lives for good, or for bad.
We can leave them feeling gloomy, or joyous, or glad.

Do the marks that we leave press down deep in their lives?
Or do we speed by like a wisp past their eyes?

We should seek to impact every life that we touch
With a positive imprint that blesses them much.

Leaving them better than when we first came,
So they will never again be the same.

As they feel the imprint that our life makes on theirs,
They will know there is someone who really does care.

For the prints that we leave were first left on us,
When our Lord shed His blood and died on the cross.

So, let your love show them that He loves them too;
And the prints that you leave will be Christ working through you.

Join together in making this one sacrifice…

Imprinting the world with the Gospel of Christ.
