Heroes

Webster's definitions:

Hero(Heroine): A man(woman) of distinguished valor

Valor: Bravery; courage; prowess in war

Prowess: Bravery; boldness and dexterity in war

Dexterity: Expertness; skill

Do you get it?

We are to be men and women who are brave
and courageous, bold and skillful in war.


What war? I'm glad you asked.

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world and against
the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly
realms." Eph. 6:12


So how are we to prepare for this war?

How are we to equip ourselves so that
we can be "skillful"?

"Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power." Eph. 6:10

"Put on the full armor of God, so that ...
you may be able to stand your ground, and
after you have done everything, to stand." Eph. 6:13


Also, we can equip ourselves with the
Word of God:

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful
for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training
in righteousness, so that the man of God may
be thoroughly equipped for every good
work." II Tim. 3:16
