Shadrach and his two main men,
Refused to bow before
A golden image that, to them,
Was false, and nothing more.
Then the king who made that god,
Became a bit irate.
No longer would there be allowed
Such insubordinates.
And so the three were thrown into
A furnace, fiery hot.
Those around thought they were doomed,
But God forgot them not.
To make a longer story short
And save a little time,
I'll try to finish this report
With one more simple rhyme.
The Lord was in that fire with them,
And brought them safely through,
To show that when you stand for Him,
He will stand up for you.
(see Daniel 3)
